Frequently Asked Questions

  • Each of our events offers at least two to three course formats, in order to adapt to everyone's desires and level.

    • The Gran Fondo route is for cyclists with good physical fitness and regular training. It represents a real sporting challenge, with a demanding course and significant elevation gain.

    • The Hiking option is ideal for participants who wish to discover the event at their own pace, without performance constraints or timed objectives, while fully enjoying the scenery and atmosphere.

  • Starting corrals are automatically assigned during registration, based on the format chosen on the form:
    Competition or Hiking.

    • The SAS Competition is intended for participants wishing to take part with a focus on performance and ranking.

    • The SAS Rando is reserved for participants riding without a time goal, in a spirit of discovery and pleasure.

    In some exceptional cases, a change of SAS may be considered on request, provided you can justify your level and within the limits of available places.
    Your request can only be processed after your race number has been assigned.

    ⚠️ No changes to the starting area will be possible on the morning of the event.

  • To participate in our events, you must provide either a valid medical certificate or a recognized sports license.

    Medical certificate

    The medical certificate must:

    • attest to your fitness to participate in competitive cycling,

    • to be dated, signed and stamped by a doctor

    • be valid on the day of the test.

    In accordance with French regulations, a medical certificate is valid for one year.

    Licenses accepted

    We accept the following valid licenses, dated less than one year prior and including a medical examination:

    • FFC

    • FFTri (FFTri license valid only for female participants)

    • FFGT

    • UFOLEP (competitive license with medical endorsement)

    Foreign licenses are also accepted, provided they were issued following a medical examination and are for competitive cycling.

    New – FF Cyclotourism

    FF Cyclotourisme licenses have recently evolved and now offer a Vélorando format.
    These licenses are accepted only if the following statement is explicitly included:

  • The transmission of your medical certificate or your license is done primarily via your participant area, accessible on the registration platform.

    You can also present your document on the day of the event, when collecting your race bibs, if it has not yet been validated online.

    Please observe the following points:

    • The uploaded file must be less than 1 MB in size.

    • Only documents submitted via the participant area are considered for early validation.

    • Documents sent by email or post are no longer accepted.

    Access your participant area

    All steps related to your registration are done directly via the registration platform, from your personal participant space.

    To log in, you simply need:

    • the email address used during registration,

    • the booking ID received by email after your registration.

    Once logged into your account, you can:

    • submit or update your mandatory documents (medical certificate or license),

    • to check and modify certain personal information,

    • track the validation status of your application,

    • Find all the information related to your registration.

  • To collect your race number, you will need to present:

    • a valid form of identification,

    • your e-ticket, sent by email a few days before the event.

    Bib collection must be done in person.

    Exceptionally, and only if your registration file is complete and validated, the withdrawal can be made by:

    • your group leader (club president), or

    • a colleague or friend.

    In this case, the person will need to present:

    • your registration confirmation,

    • a copy of your identity document.

    ℹ️ Bib numbers are assigned a few weeks before the event and communicated via the registration platform.

  • No, transferring race numbers is strictly prohibited.

    All registrations are strictly personal and non-transferable.
    In the event of non-compliance with this rule, the organization reserves the right to refuse the departure of the participant concerned, without refund, and to initiate the measures provided for by the regulations.

  • During a cyclosportive event, all participants are required to respect the highway code.
    The route takes place on roads partially open to traffic, unless otherwise indicated. Some sections of the route will be completely closed to traffic. The organizers will notify participants in advance.

    A safety and support system is in place, implemented by the organization. Marshals are present to assist cyclists and contribute to the safety of all road users. Their role is to guide and warn, without ever replacing the existing traffic rules. We also deploy motorcyclists from the organization as mobile marshals/controllers to ensure everyone can participate safely.

    Each participant remains responsible for their own safety. It is up to them to adapt their behavior and speed accordingly.

    • of the profile and state of the journey,

    • traffic conditions,

    • weather conditions (rain, wind, visibility, etc.).

  • In the event of a minor mechanical incident (puncture, etc.), each participant must be self-sufficient and have the appropriate repair equipment.

    If a mechanical problem prevents you from continuing the race, you may be taken care of by the sweeper car.

    Please note: This assistance is not immediate, so a waiting period may be necessary. Our teams are doing their best to help you.

    Emergency and medical assistance services are deployed throughout the course and monitor the progress of the race, in order to be able to intervene quickly if needed.

    In the event of an accident, or if you witness a situation requiring medical assistance, each participant has an obligation to stop, provide assistance where possible, and notify emergency services.

    The emergency contact number is indicated on the back of your frame plate and must be used immediately to allow for a rapid intervention by medical teams.

  • An emergency number is systematically set up for each event.
    It is communicated in the official information of the event and is also shown on the back of your frame plate.

    It is essential to complete the personal information on the back of your frame plate:

    • first and last name,

    • race number,

    • Telephone number of a person to contact in case of emergency.

    Make sure you keep your frame plate with you throughout the event, to facilitate rapid assistance if needed.

  • A meal ticket is included in your registration pack, for both the Gran Fondo and Rando formats.

    After your event, you will be able to access the Pasta Party, offered on a self-service basis in the event village, after your arrival.

The Gran Fondo Samoëns - Montagnes du Giffre takes place over one or two days, in the heart of Haute-Savoie.
You choose your format, your pace, your goal.

  • 1 day: Saturday or Sunday

  • 2 days: the complete Gran Fondo experience

  • Competition mode or free ride mode


Two stages, two different profiles, two days to fully immerse yourself in the mountains.
